THE WENTWORTH PARK GAMES
Glebe/Forest Lodge versus Pyrmont/Ultimo
Sunday 12 September 2010, 11am-2pm
Wentworth Park Sporting Complex
Wentworth Park Road, Glebe
The Wentworth Park Games challenges residents of Glebe and Forest Lodge to take on Ultimo and Pyrmont in a day of fun sporting activity in historic Wentworth Park. Join in the People's Games to compete in such sports of antiquity as gumboot throwing, wine glass racing, Beckham bending, and obstacle courses. Heave away and haul away in the mass Pyrmont/Ultimo versus Glebe/Forest Lodge tug of war. Help your suburb to win the coveted Glebe Ultimo Pyrmont trophy, the GUP Cup!
Even the humble family dogs of Glebe, Forest Lodge, Pyrmont and Ultimo are called to action in the spectacular "Greyhound Racing for Non-Greyhounds" event, otherwise known as the Mongrel Cup.
Following a tabulation of the day's results (a mathematical calculation that will make even the Eurovision song contest look straight forward), the GUP Cup will be awarded to the triumphant suburb.
The Games aim to encourage friendly rivalry and neighbourly goodwill, and make more use of this great community facility.
Last year, over 1500 people attended secopnd Wentworth Park Games. Will Pyrmont/Ultimo be victorious in 2010? Residents and dogs of Glebe, Forest Lodge, Pyrmont, and Ultimo your suburb needs YOU! Be there for the Wentworth Park Games.
